Another case of of love at first sight when I layed my eyes upon this gem of fly reel. I bought one for my trip to Montana and it pairs great with my Hardy Ultralight 8.5 #4. Meet the Galvan OB:

These days it seems that new Fly reel designs appear in the same frequency as new fly rods do.
This design is already some years old but still has that killer look. A nice job done by Loop: the HiTec.

At Exclusive Reels I found out there's a new fly reel released by my favourite designer Ari 't Hart. Some years ago, at an edition of the dutch Fly Fair expo, I saw a prototype of this reel.

- Cortland Embassy 40
Today I've bought a Cortland Embassy 40 on eBay. In my eyes a true fly reel design gem.
When I visited Montana, back 2001, I touched one at George Goody's Montana Fly Company in Melrose and fell in love it. I don't know what kept me from buying it than, but soon it will arrive and stay with me for ever.
